Our final tests on the new pump was an actual 2000 miles on our 1960 Monza and 100 hours of run time on an engine on a test stand run at 2500-3000 RPM’ s. In a standard Corvair this would be equivalent to another 5000+ miles of highway driving. Clarks had a special run of diaphragm material with internal fibers increased by 150% back to original factory thickness. W e also determined the correct way to assemble the diaphragm and stem assembly to each other and into the pump. Our pumps will have a 2-year warranty limited to replacement or refund, your choice. W e expect to have these new pumps in May or June 2025. This fuel pump is for automotive use only . WHY CLARKS HAS NOT SOLD AN ORIGINAL STYLE FUEL PUMP IN OVER 3 YEARS 1 The pumps on the market have major problems and ar e not reliable, just read some of the customer reviews with the 3-4 pumps on the market. 2 W e had sold one well known fuel pump brand for over 20 years and they became so bad they told us they would no longer replace or refund for any defective ones! (They wer e averaging 50% failure within 6 months so we stopped selling them and started working on our own pump.) 3 Why so many failing pumps? W e have seen wrong length stem, stem not centered which stresses diaphragm, thin diaphragms/fabrics, no retainer bolt hole or hole located wr ong, and diaphragms not assembled correctly .
