'65-69 CAR SHIFTER
1965-69 SHIFTER PARTS – 3 & 4 SPEED: All Parts Fit All Years Exc, As Noted.
QUICK SHIFTER KITS – see page 118
Bronze Shifter Bushing Kit: 1965-69 – In use since 1974
These bronze bushings replace the original plastic bushings at the front and back of the shift tube. The
plastic ones quite easily pop out, allowing a great deal of play. By installing these bronze bushings, you will
have easier, more positive shifting. Another added benefit is that the shifter will be much less apt to rattle
on rough roads. Installation time is about 1-2 hours. Directions are easy. Fits new or used shifters. This is the
time to check other shifter parts.
C1 SET: For new or used rods. Includes: (2) machined bronze bushings, hardware, detailed instructions.
C1 SET 4 oz./set
C1BB BUSHINGS ONLY: You may purchase just the machined bronze bushings for the shift rod. You then
can braze or solder them in place.
C1BB = 2 BUSHINGS ONLY 4 oz.
PICTURE # Be sure to consider all the following parts for complete shifter job.
1. Shifter Plastic Base: Fits between shifter base and floor (see page 118). These are being machined from DELRIN (a self lubricating high quality "nylon") and appear just
like the originals but are vastly superior to the original "plastic". C537D 4 oz.
2. Lower Seal: See page 118 – "SHIF T LEVER SEALS & SHIMS"
3. Shifter Tube: Old ones get rusty, stabilizer rod mount often breaks off. Well wor th replacing if shifter binds or is sloppy. C128 7 lbs.
4. Shifter Shaft (Rod): Goes from shift lever to transmission coupler. Apt to rust and bind. C129 4 lbs.
5. Bolt Kit: F or coupler. C2146 2 oz.

10 & 11. Special Small Washer & Cotter Pin: On shifter pin. C2200 1 oz.
12.
Shift Rod Coupler: Original Rubber – Attaches to shif t rod and (by pin C43) attaches to transmission. Shaft pin hole wears and/or internal rubber
mount loosens causing sloppy shifting and no reverse. C131R 1 lb.
Coupler with NYLON: Made just like our stock couplers but with a nylon insert. This gives very positive shifts but may allow some shifter vibration.
1961-69 CARS & FC C131RN 1 lb.
13.
Pin: Shift coupler to transmission – Wears and causes sloppy shifting C43 1 oz.
14. Bolt Kit: 2 bolts, flat & lock washers C4437 4 oz./set
