35. Carb Base Insulators & Gaskets: (Also see page 55, bottom) Corvair carbs came from the factory with a hard plastic insulator (spacer) to decrease heat soak from the
head. We suggest that but we also offer gaskets to go below and above that spacer for positive sealing. Order 2 gaskets and 1 spacer per carb.
Carburetor Spacer (Insulator): 1960–69 All (exc. Turbo or 2 & 4 barrel ram kits) C506 2 oz. each
Carburetor Spacer Gasket (1/64") : 1960–69 All (exc. Turbo or 2 & 4 barrel ram kits) C506H 2 oz. each
Set – 2 Carb Engines: 2 insulators & 4 gaskets. C506A 6 oz./set
Set – 4 Carb Engines: 4 insulators & 8 gaskets. C506B 10 oz./set
Special Gasket: Turbo chrome inlet to head and all 2 or 4 barrel ram kits. C12A 1 oz.
THICKER Carb Spacer Gaskets: Many years ago we started of fering a 1/64" gasket to go above and below the insulator.
In most applications these gaskets are plenty thick but some customers have asked for thicker gaskets so we now offer 1/32".
These will only be available separately – NOT in any engine sets.
Thicker Carb Gaskets: 1/32" C506HT 4 oz. each
Sets of Thicker Carb Gaskets & Insulators for 2 Carb: 4 gaskets, 2 insulators. C506AT 6 oz.
Sets of Thicker Carb Gaskets & Insulators for 4 Carb: 8 gaskets, 4 insulators. C506BT 10 oz.
36. Screws – Throttle Plate: Must be replaced and "peened" over (file off "peened" end of old screw to remove). E XACT REPRO. C1835 1 oz.
37. Screw – Fast Idle Cam: 1962–69 C2758 1 oz.
38. Needle – Pump Discharge: 1960–69 C4568 1 oz.
38½. Gasket – Venturi Cluster: Fits all years. C5767 1 oz.
39. Main Well Insert: See USED pages 350-351.
40. Main Jet : 1960–69. Easily replaced. Smaller the #, the smaller the size (less fuel). Most jets were 49, 50, 51
(see page 59 for usage). Note: These jets have correct bevel around hole, inexpensive jets may not.

42. Screw – Vapor Vent Retaining : 1964–69 C1843 1 oz.
42½. Vapor Vent Arm: 1964–69. Replace that fatigued, worn or bent one. C1569A 1 oz.
43. Rubber "Plug": 1964–69. Goes on your vapor vent "spring" arm. Replace! C1569 1 oz.
44. Carburetor Choke Rod : 1964–69 (exc. Turbo). Goes from connecting rod to carburetor. C885 1 oz.
45. Choke Connector Rod: 1962–69. Goes from choke coil to rod that attaches to carburetor. This is the one that goes thru the head. All (exc. Turbo) C1250R 2 oz.
46. Automatic Choke Coil & Bracket : At taches to the head. The bimetallic coils fatigue and do not respond as quickly or with as much force as
when new. Your choke may not open or close as fully and as quickly as it should. These are exact replacements for 1964–69. (1962–63 owners:
These will fit and work but you also need to order the 1964–69 upper rod – C885 #44). C1168 6 oz.
Original Style Choke Coil Retainers: Set of 4 = 2 standard size and 2 oversize plus a drill for oversize and instructions. Hold coil to head. C1168R 2 oz.
47. Clip: 1962–69 carbs. Attaches choke rod (#44) to carburetor –either side– not quite original size but works! C886 1 oz.
48. Replacement Shaft: See page 58.
49. Clips – Carb. Linkage: CLIP USAGE – This chart gives the usual quantity of clips required. [R] = right clip (C2360) and [L] = left clip (C2360K). Clips listed for
"secondary carb" may be at the secondaries or clips on the linkage "on the way to" the secondaries. [R] = right clip (C2360) 1 oz. [L] = left clip (C2360K) 1 oz.

• COMPLETE SET – Miscellaneous "E" Clips & Cotter Pins: For 66–69 140 style linkage. C9259 1 oz./set
50. Carb. Swivel : On most 1960–69 carbs (exc. Turbo). Fits threaded linkage. Most are worn resulting in excess play. C9183 1 oz.
51. Choke Tripper to Fast Idle Cam: 62–69 carbs. Always "missing". C9554R 2 oz.
Do You Need These Thicker Gaskets?
You really shouldn't unless your head
or carb base are damaged. All CLARK
rebuilt carb bases are machined flat –
an extra step so you get a perfect seal.
Carb Throttle Return Spring (exc. Turbo) – Our regular carb return springs (page 58) help the accelerator
linkage & carbs return to the closed position, but due to linkage wear & looseness, the carbs do not always return to a fully
closed position. These 4 oz. springs are easy to install on all 1960–69 primary carb shafts & help the carbs return to fully closed.
You will not notice an increased pressure at the accelerator pedal. If the main carb return spring should ever break (check every
2-3 years) these will help the carb close. Note: These CANNOT be used with our shaft O-ring seal kits. We suggest a new
throttle shaft if there is wear. C1916 2 oz. each
NEW 64–69 (exc. Turbo) Carburetor Floats: Exact repros made out of brass just like the originals. Check yours –
more original floats are starting to leak. Will fit 60-63 but need to use C1834 control spring (#13, page 55). C2756 6 oz.
Carb Kits with New Floats: Add "F" to the end of these carb kits (next page) & we will include a new float –
C557, C557L, C8183, C8183L, C8203 & C8203L.
See pages 57–59 for more carburetor parts
