One Person BRAKE BLEED VALVES!
Install these brake bleeder valves and you can bleed your brakes, anytime, by yourself! Sketch #1 shows valve screwed in. A spring loaded brass plunger seals the
bleeder hole in the cylinder. Sketch #2 shows that the valve has been loosened, but the spring pressure keeps the brass plunger against the cylinder hole. As you
pump the brake pedal, the fluid forces the plunger away and the air and fluid escapes (attach a rubber hose to the bleeder valve to carry fluid to a container). When
you stop pumping the plunger immediately blocks the hole. Now just tighten the bleeder valve and you're done! Quantity price breaks are for the same par t number.

SILICONE BRAKE FLUID
Don't accept a substitute! The main consideration for Corvair owners is the fact that it does not absorb water! Why install regular brake fluid
which will soon start rusting your new parts. You can flush out your current system (with regular brake fluid) This should be done every 2-3 years
and change to SILICONE BRAKE FLUID and all but forget it. (Note: If brake system is over 2 years old with regular fluid, some damage may
already be done).
Good or Bad? You can find pros & cons for regular and silicone brake fluid. I've used both for years and have had considerably fewer problems
with silicone. If I do ever spill it on my paint, I won't be crying for weeks!
Temp – High/Low: Brake temperature can exceed 400 degrees F. SILICONE fluid retains its high boiling point past 750 degrees F.
Because SILICONE BRAKE FLUID viscosity changes less than regular brake fluid its response stays normal at low and high temperature.
Chemically Inert: SILICONE BRAKE FLUID has no effect on paint, aluminum, plastic, rubber, or anything else.
Long Shelf Life: Regular brake fluid (once opened) should not be kept more than a few months. You can safely keep your extra SILICONE BRAKE FLUID for years.
SILICONE BRAKE FLUID: DOT 5 1 Quart C3797 3 lbs.
REGULAR Brake Fluid: TOP QUALITY BRAND 1 Quart C1923 2 lbs.
Old fluid should be flushed every 2-3 years due to moisture.
STOP LIGHT SWITCHES: See page 84B
Important Brake Hose Info: For years the only size brake hoses available for the Corvair were 1/8" id.
Clarks has now reproduced them in the correct original inside size of 3/16". All hoses ordered from us after 8/1/06 are 3/16".
You Can't Judge a Brake Hose by its "Cover'': Everyone knows old brake hoses can crack or rupture without warning. We've learned
that old brake hoses can swell so much that they can block off all or most of the passage. If this happens on the front, it can pull
dangerously to one side. If you don't know your brake hose history, REPLACE THEM! Always replace both sides {especially on the front).
