WHAT IS IT?
When I removed the metal trim at the front of the
dash on my 1960 Monza, I noticed this 5½” long
item painted the color of the dash, up against the
windshield rubber. What do you think it is? Answer on
the bottom of this page!
ANSWER: WHAT IS IT? As you may know, cars of the 50s & 60s had some seams finished at the factory with lead. However, this fit in ahead of
the dash so perfectly that I do not think it was just dropped there. Maybe the lead fumes got to him & it seemed like a fun thing to do! It says National Lead
Co. They started Dutch Boy paint around 1907 (as paint used alot of lead until the 70s)
when they sold Dutch Boy to Sherwin Williams. They are still in busness as NL Industries.
The Corvair Museum said “Yes, they thought it was interesting enough for a display."
CLARK GAS TANK
1961-69 – You can now save $30 or more with our new excellent repro
gas tank (C151F). We'll still be selling the one we've sold for over 20 years
(C151) but our new tanks are made from slightly thicker steel and the edge
flanges are bent like the NOS for an easier fit.

MULTIKITS with CLARK GAS TANK: All the multikits can be ordered with our
new tank, just add "F" to the end of the kit part number and you get C151F instead of C151. If you
are adding sealer to the tank kit, add the "A" after the "F" at the end of the kit part numbers.
CLARK Fuel Pumps: Finding mechanical fuel pumps is getting harder – there are even
some on the market that just do not fit. Clark's is planning to reproduce fuel pumps to exact original
standards. The pump is a complicated part to reproduce, so it will take time. We hope to have them
produced by the end of 2022. For now, we have the electric pump conversion kits available.

CLARK GAS TANK
Cal & Joans 1960 Monza – 24,000 miles. We’ve
owned this since 1978 & finally got time to freshen
it up. Zero rust holes but former owner had scraped
both sides (on garage doors?) and it had been
repainted so I plastic media blasted everything &
repainted all but the interior and trunk. In photo, I’m
moving the car, on the rotator, from my paint booth
to my “assembly” garage.

Spark Plug Wire Protectors
If your retainers no longer have the rubber & you do not want
to bother trying to recoat them – these are slit lengthwise &
fit over 7 or 8mm plug wires. You can then slip them into the
wire retainers on your engine cover and they protect the wire
& prevent arcing.

Bare 61-64 Car Spring Ring Ground Cable (Exc Wagon)
The original factory cables were just bare copper – in the late 60’s the replacements were "tinned" to
help prevent corrosion – if you want to be pure stock you need these bare cables, but they will be more
apt to corrode. Repro C7706GB $78.25 1 lb.
New Cardboard Color: All cardboard items on pages 285-287 may now be ordered in
a new color – "charcoal" gray – code "Q". A sample is shown on the website "what's new" – samples
suggested.
Folding Package Areas/Kick Panels: The best way to fold
package area or kick panel creases is to fold the colored sides
towards each other somewhat, then fold the parts away as needed.
By folding the colored sides towards each other, it usually makes a
slight "bulge" that helps it fold the other way with less cracking – a
slight amount of cracking is still "normal".
Master Cylinder to Body Seal – 1960-61: The thick rubber seal
surrounds the filler neck & is compressed into a depression under the
dash – this keeps any spilled brake fluid from dripping under the dash
onto the carpet – it is often missing. Not in any kits.
