Gas Tank & Related Parts

 Parts you should definitely consider as they are usually needed to replace or even remove a tank.

5. Strap Bolts: Hooked bolts that go through strap and attaches to body frame (2 needed). 1960–69 Cars.

Original style ones, fit exactly like the originals and all bolts include stainless steel nuts.

Nuts – Set of 2: Stainless steel nuts for tank bolts (come w/ bolts). C154N 2 oz./set

FC Gas Tank Strap Nuts: Washer nuts; set of 2 (only used on one end).

6. Anti-Squeak Material: For between gas tank and the body. Enough material for 1 tank.

1960–69 Cars C1370 4 oz.

7. Filler Vent: Very difficult size to find. Be sure to have if removing or replacing tank. These age and split.

7A. Connector (Steel) Turbo Return Original with "beads" at ends: C9E 1 oz. Replacement – just straight tube: C9A 1 oz.

7B. Return Hose: Enough for each end of steel line. 1962–66 Turbo C687 8 oz.

8. Filler Neck : Special diameter used on Corvair only.

1960–69 Cars C1045 4 oz.

1961–65 Vans C1574 4 oz.

Bulk: Enough for 3-4 car hoses C152 1 lb.

9A. Tank Outlet: Enough 5/16" gas hose for connection from tank outlet to steel line and from end of steel line thru into engine compartment.

9B. Gas Filler Drain : 1961–64. Keeps gas from spilling on the tire. As original this fits nylon insert in bottom of gas filler pocket and runs down side of fender.

9C. Nylon Drain Insert: 1961–64. Pushes into gas pocket and hose attaches. C9814 1 oz.

9D. Clip: 1961-64. Holds drain hose in place. Minimum of 2 needed. C9815 1 oz.

Gear Clamps: Top quallty stainless steel clamps with steel screws. "All Stainless" have stainless screw. Have the right size!

10A. Clamp: For gas hose where it attaches to steel gas lines (at gas tank & engine). Also vent hose.

12. Gas Tank Filler Seal : 1961-69. Large round rubber seal that goes around neck and seals to body.

Cars E xact Repro C536R 8 oz. Vans Exact Repro C10875 8 oz.

Van: Car filler seal will work but you have to trim out the inner ribs (2-3 min). Seal can be installed either way.

One way looks more original but o.d. is 1/8" less than original. Other way looks less stock. C536R 8 oz.
