replacing the stock cast ones with our super strong machined shafts to be safe. We offer the "bullet proof", top quality OTTO Parts shaf t which also accepts 2 seals for
double sealing protection. You can either install 1 seal which will be positioned in a slightly new position on the input shaft, or install 2 seals and the stock retaining ring.
No modifications are necessary. Fits all 1960-69 standards. YOU MUST DISASSEMBLE THE DIFFERENTIAL. CL ARK'S are made to exacting tolerances and plated. DO NOT
accept inferior throw out bearing shafts. There are several critical dimensions. If you are ordering a Gasket Set also remember to order (1) extra seal (#15).

SPEEDOMETER GEARS – 1960-64 Cars & 1961-65 Vans (FC) – NYLON GEARS ONLY
There were 2 basic outside diameters of the nylon driven speedo gear . These have to match up with the correct diameter steel gear on the differential pinion gear. The 20, 21 and
22 teeth gears had a smaller o.d. of about 0.847" and the pinion gear was about 1.845". The 23, 24, 25 and 26 teeth gears had a larger o.d. of about 0.892" and the pinion gear
was about 1.761". If yours has the smaller o.d. nylon gear you cannot install a larger o.d.! Within your "size" group if you put in a gear with 1 more tooth, your speedo will slow
down about 3-4 MPH (and the opposite is true). The one ratio to really watch is the 3:55 Car vs. Van. The Car used the larger o.d. and the Van used the smaller. Be sure you know
which differential you have. To help with this situation we have produced a special 22 tooth with the large o.d. If your speedo is off due to age or tire size you may be able to get it
closer by varying your nylon gear. They are easy to change. The following chart is accurate as far as we know! Replace your worn or stripped gear.
