H. Other Turbo Parts: Manifold Gauge Parts

1. Brass Vacuum Gauge Fitting: Screws into inlet port on left head of 1962–66 Turbo. C1082 1 oz.
2. Replacement Brass Ends: For vacuum gauge line. All 1962–66 Turbo & 140 HP. Used at engine and gauge end. Easily installs
on plastic hose, just push on. C1083 1 oz.
Manifold Pressure Hose: From manifold to dash gauge. These get brittle. Buy new connectors above. Includes instructions for using old connectors.
1962–66 Turbo & 140 HP C20 6 oz.
Instructions Only for installing manifold pressure hose: Included with C20. C262 1 oz.
Turbo Pressure Hose Clip
This clip was used to hold the pressure gauge hose to the chrome fuel line. Plain steel or chrome plated (not polished first).
Not sure if used on early models. Plain C1198P 1 oz.
Chrome C1198C 1 oz.
Turbo Head Fitting: Right head, hose to distributor retard.
Original Style C1150 3 oz.
Pressure Retards: Turbos have a pressure retard on the distributor (looks like a vacuum advance). Also see "ADVANCE/RETARD" below. Be sure to check the one
on your Turbo distributor to see that it's right. The number on the actuating arm should be (1962–64 #224 OR 231), (1965–66 #250). The small tube where the hose slides on
should also have a raised "barb" to hold the hose on. This reproduction works well on all years.
EX ACT REPROS #224 62-64 Turbos C13269 6 oz.
#250 65-66 Turbos C13270 6 oz.
Original Pressure Retard Hose Clamps: 2 Needed C2564C 2 oz.
Turbo Advance & Retard: These work like a vacuum advance and advance
the timing until the vacuum approaches "0" and goes into boost. At that time it works like an original retard
unit and retards the timing. I have been starting with the timing at 18-20 degrees (vacuum "advance/retard")
disconnected. Throttle response seems much quicker with and without boost. Boost seems to start sooner and
go a little higher. 1962–66 C7877 6 oz.
Original Pressure Retard Hose Clamps: 2 Needed C2564C 2 oz.
Head Temp Sender Units: 1962–66 Turbo – ORIGINAL STYLE
Orignal Thermister: Goes in left head and makes dash gauge work. Looks like a small spark plug. C436 Discontinued
Gasket for original thermister C21 1 oz.
Nut : Special for original thermister C1592 ½ oz.
"Idiot Light Sender": 1962–66 Turbo – Excellent Repro – Goes in right head. C437R 2 oz.
Gasket for sender C644 1 oz.
Thermister Replacement
The “CHT-100” is an advanced Cylinder Head Temperature Sensor for the Corvair Spyder and Corsa models. Designed as a direct
replacement for the obsolete AC Thermistor, the “CHT-100” uses thermocouple technology for reliable and accurate temperature
measurement over the wide range of temperatures experienced in the Cor vair engine. It uses advanced digital technology to
convert the thermocouple measurement to a constant resistance source, matched specifically to the Corvair dash mounted
cylinder head temperature gauge. The result is a sensor that outperforms the original AC Delco design. Threads into original
thermister hole – comes with instructions. Want more info? Visit web site vairtrix.com. No washer or nut needed.
1962-64 Spyder: C1717 4 oz. 1965-66 Corsa: C1718 4 oz.
Thermister Adaptor for 80–110HP Heads
These have been available for years but we would not sell them as they were very apt to break. These have been redesigned and
are much stronger. If you have installed a Spyder or Corsa dash or are using the original head temp gauge, you can screw these
adaptors into the spare "idiot light switch" hole & then screw in an original thermister.
DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN! Just until snug. C10888 2 oz.
