6. "U" Pipes – 140 & "2 Carb" Engines         ALSO SEE WELDED KITS – PAGE 35
  These "U" pipes can be used to repair older dual exhaust systems or to make a dual system. They bolt to the stock  
  manifolds and slide inside the inlet of a stock Cor vair muffler. These come in several of our dual exhaust sets and are  
  already welded to our "welded" dual exhaust mufflers. Aluminized for longer life.
  NOTE: Originally there were left and right "U" pipes but years ago we switched to one that works equally well on either  
 side – actually better! – see below.
      These are EXACT fit – no modification needed.
    Use exhaust packings correct for your engine. (140 hp. engines had 4 carbs).

Our muf flers are the highest QUALIT Y – to the EXACT original size, shape and specs. You will NOT get a lightweight, poor quality, "almost correct" muffler from CLARK'S. 
These are custom made and delivered directly to us by the manufacturer. The C125X, C125E and C126X are the original muf flers for 1960-69 Cars (exc. Turbos, 140's & 
Smog). They come with the original 1 1/2" tail pipe and clamp. The 140 hp. and Smog Cars should order C126XL which has the larger 1 3/4" tail pipe and clamp for LESS 
restriction. These can also be used on the other engines but are NOT original for them. Inlet size is identical.

FC Dual Exhaust Kits
Ground clearance by rear engine skid plate is decreased by only 2"; this seldom causes a problem with FC's. All KITS bolt to stock manifolds. Aluminized mufflers that give 
more flow than a single exhaust but with only a slightly louder sound.
Each Kit is COMPLETE for 1 SIDE: U-pipe, gasket, muffler, clamps, hangers & chrome tip.

"U" PIPES .....NO left and right?
The problem was that as GM designed the dual exhausts, the "U" pipe on one side came within 5/8" of the shock absorber while it was about 1 1/4" away on 
the other side. We found that by using the "shor ter" "U" pipe on both sides there were several advantages:
  First: Both "U" pipes ended up about 1 1/8" – 1 1/4" away from the shocks.
 Second: The mufflers seemed to line up and look better on both sides.
Since the "U" pipes and tail pipes can be moved in and out and rotated, you actually end up with a system that fits and looks better than the factory stock system. 
This is why we list the same "U" pipe for both sides and do not list a lef t and right.
