SEAT SPRING CLIPS: We offer the original style that allow free movement. Sold set of 5. C13175 4 oz.
TIGHTER CLIPS: We suggest these spring clips if you have an area where you need to get the springs tighter but do not need
quite as much movement. Note: Do not remove the "paper liner" as it helps prevent noise. Sold set of 5. C13176 2 oz.
Paper Covered Wire: All Corvair upholstery has wire in the listing – it is often paper covered. The paper covering
kept the wire from cutting through the listing and as the hog rings gripped the paper covering, kept the wire from moving. Zigzag wire
and even bare wire was used (bare wire rusts & is more apt to cut through the listing). We are offering thin & thick wire. The thin wire
will work for all car & FC upholstery. The thicker wire was used in several places that Chevy thought there would be more stress.
25 Feet is plenty for the FC front seat (they often used thick). 50 Feet is plenty for any car or FC with rear seats. Why replace?
Usually the old paper has deteriorated. Bare wire must be sanded or the rust can quickly deteriorate the listing.
Thin Paper Covered Wire (most often used thickness)
25 Feet C9064A 1 lb.
Sample: C9064X
50 Feet C9064W 2 lbs.
Thick Paper Covered Wire (often for FC & limited areas in car & bucket seat)
25 Feet C10019W 1 lb. 4 oz.
Sample: C10019A
50 Feet C10020W 2 lbs. 8 oz.
FOAM: FC's & 4-Dr Monza Rear Seats and some 500/700s: This is a premium quality automotive grade foam, it is not the low density
stuff!!!!! We offer 3 different densities for the seat bottoms & 1 for the seat backs.
FC'S: All FC's used foam on all of the seats & it almost always needs replacing. On the earlier FC's it was just a piece of
foam; on the later ones it was formed slightly to wrap around the seats. Ours are just sheets & will work great. They also
used a layer of cotton on top.
FC Seat Tops (Front & Rear): These originally used an "ultra plush" 3/4" foam which we have increased to 1"
(don't forget the cotton). Some "regular" models did not use foam in the top, just cotton. You can add the foam &
1 layer of cotton for greater comfort.
Custom/Delux Seat Bottoms: FABRIC or VINYL, front or rear, used a 1 1/2" foam that was approximately half way
between our "plush" and "firm". We also offer an "extra firm" if you want to increase the stiffness of your seat. It will be a
little harder to install. Most modern car seats are closer to the "extra firm". Don't forget the cotton.
Regular FC Interiors Bottoms: Non-custom, non-delux & non-Greenbriers. These used the "plush" foam in 1 1/4",
we've increased that to 1 1/2". You can also move up to the "firm" foam if you want. Don't forget the cotton.
Bench Seats & 4 Dr Rear Seats: Please check your seats to see how they were constructed.
Comes in sheets 1= 24" x 66" they're bulky & do not compress very much. Weights vary depending on quantities ordered & packing required.
Ultra Plush: 1" (seat backs only) C13177 4 lbs. Sample: C13177A
Plush: 1 1/2" (seat bottoms) C13178 6 lbs. Sample: C13178A
Firm: 1 1/2" (seat bottoms) C13179 6 lbs. Sample: C13179A
Extra Firm: 1 1/2" (seat bottoms) C13180 6 lbs. Sample: C13180A
Non-Cotton: This is a synthetic material that is not quite as dense as cotton, but "stays together" better than cotton. You may want to use several layers
instead of the cotton, but note that it is NOT as firm as cotton, but does have slightly better "memor y". The ½" is slightly denser & very useful for bucket seat
cotton replacement on top of the seat buns as it stays together & stays put better than cotton. Note: Each non-bucket seat needs approx 55-66" & may need
double layers. When you measure, allow 2-3" of overhang on each end.
Non-Cotton 1/2" (slightly denser) 1 = 27" x 1 yd C13220 1 lb./yd Sample: C13220A
Non-Cotton 3/4" 1 = 27" x 1 yd C13221 10 oz./yd Sample: C13221A

7⁄16" (semi-firm foam) 1 = 24" x 54" 2 = 24" x 108" C13085 3 lbs. /yd Sample: C13086
Padding: Many seats used an "under padding", that was under the cotton layer and usually on top of the burlap. It might be dense cotton with burlap (or
another mesh glued on) or it may be a jute-like material or even a dense felt material. You may choose to glue together several layers of cotton & a layer of burlap,
or use 1 or 2 layers of our dense padding or even 1 or 2 layers of carpet padding or the ¼" jute. We suggest you get our full sample kit below so you can
decide. See 3M glue bottom of page 265A.
PADDING: These are some of our products that you may want to use to replace the "under padding". Also see Felt.
Note: Each non-bucket seat needs approx 55-66" & may need double layers; when you measure allow 2-3" of overhang on each end.
Dense Pad: Non-Cotton 3/4" 1 = 27" x 1 yd C13224 1 lb./yd Sample: C13224A
Carpet Padding: 1/2" – sold by the yard 1 = 36" x 1 yd 2 = 36" x 2 yds., etc. C3801 3 lbs./yd. (most seats need Sample: C3801A
55-66" per layer)
Felt: Felt was used in various places on some seats. Bucket seats and other seats had some 18" felt glued to the frame to cushion the upholstery that might rub
against it. Bucket seats & other seats had ¼" felt hog ringed & hanging in the seat or between springs. It is often musty or torn. Several layers of ¼" can be glued
together to produce a replacement for jute or felt "under padding". Note: Each non-bucket seat needs approx 55-66" & may need double layers.

Order C2825F – FREE with a parts order. If ordering just the foam samples we do have to charge for shipping.
2 pieces approx 44 lbs., 3 pieces approx. 59 lbs. due to
size. We pack as economically as possible to save you
money on shipping.
Note: For firm or extra
firm, we suggest a layer
of regular burlap on top
& pulled snuggly over the
foam – it helps it to wrap
around front & sides.
