New Turbo Rods & Jets
There are several reasons to replace your old turbo rods and jets:
1. The rods do not stay dead center in the jet; rod rides against the jet & both wear. Sometimes
they wear a lot, leading to poor mileage.
2. Today's gas does not equal gas from the 1960's – requiring a different mix.
3. Chevy supplied a best guess combination.
4. Every turbo motor seems to run a little different.
5. It's not hard. I can easily switch them in under 10 minutes without removing the carb; just the top.
6. We include instructions and additional hints to tell you when you have installed the right jet.
These rods are PRECISION MACHINED in 3 critical areas – "CRUISE," "TRANSITION," and "POWER".
The different diameter of the rod controls the amount of flow through the jet in relation to the throttle.
In order to allow sizes of rods that can be easily machined in the undersizes needed, the jets are slightly
larger and the rod diameters are slightly larger, but have all been calculated to give the same flow as
the original stock sizes (for the "stock" size).
With the following information, you should usually be able to get within one rod size of the correct
combination for your car (expect to experiment). Consider the following example: A person at 2500 ft
may find that the one step richer required by oxygenated gas is cancelled by his elevation and the stock
combination will still work. Our thanks to Chuck Riblett for the info and for producing these parts.

PING?!? Check all tune-up aspects. Clean all flashing out of
heads when rebuilding. Pressure retard working? (Use reinforced
hose and clamps.) If you experience ping, YOU MUST ELIMINATE
ANY MORE THAN 1-2 PINGS!! Ping can ruin a turbo engine quickly.
GO RICHER.

The new "stock" jet is used with all the related rods for that year. Sorry, ABSOLUTELY NO RE TURNS ON RODS OR JETS! A few "late" 63's & "early" 65's were slightly
different, but these will work fine. See the list that follows for carb identification. IN STOCK!

Why are some of the Repro Trim Parts
only available in Pairs?
Many customers have asked this question. To save cost,
they put both pieces in the same tooling. This does two things:
1. It cuts the cost of tooling
2. It also allows the use of just one piece of metal to stamp
both pieces in turn saving on labor & reducing waste.
Another benefit, they only have one tooling to stock
& 1 set up when we reorder.
