(1964 looks the same but has 1965 style air cleaner) 2 Carbs. – 1965-69 95hp., 110hp. “Turbo-Air” (no smog shown) 4 Carbs. – 1965-69 140hp. (air cleaner shown as an outline) 1962-64 Turbocharged 1965-66 Turbocharged looks the same except has an alternator. Engine Interchangeability NOTE: Engine and/or engine lids have been known to be switched! See previous page for engine and power train numbers. Be Sure of Your Engine Before Ordering Parts. GASKETS: Nearly all gaskets are interchangeable except that 1965-69 take large head gaskets and 14Ohp. has larger exhaust packings. MECHANICAL: 1961-63 nearly all interchangeable (Turbos had different rods and crank). 1964-69 nearly all interchangeable (64 uses 61-63 blower bearing housing and generator adaptor, different cylinders and heads). SHEET METAL: 1961-64 fairly close 1965-69 fairly close ENGINE TRANSPLANT: Most engines can be used in any vehicle with change of shrouds, rear mount, and a few other items. “HIGH PERFORMANCE”: 102 hp., 110 hp., 1962-64 had “crossed” flag emblem on rear lid. 1965-69 95 hp., no engine lid emblem. 1965-69 110 hp.,or 140 hp., had respective emblem on deck lid. either can be transferred to other engine. Usually poorly stamped and hard to see.
