Building #8
This building has given us enough
room to organize all the other
buildings exactly as we wanted them.
While being very helpful with the
storage of bulky items, it was mainly
designed for the storage of used
parts! We believe that in the future,
good used parts will become harder
to nd as more "junk yards" disappear
and people get tired of storing (&
moving) their own supply. Can't think
of all these non-replaceable parts
being destroyed.
Built in 1994 – Building #8 is 86 ft. x 120 ft. with 22 ft. ceilings.
A 5,000 sq ft. mezzanine surrounds 3 walls, leaving the center wide open.
We have the parts – we have the know how, now if we
can just get the time the employee car will get nished!
The employees are doing a full restoration of a 1966
Corsa 140 Convt. which they will then be able to "sign
out" for a week at a time!
This is one of 5 similar pallet rack units. Three of the rack
units are just for shipping boxes. At the far end, you can see
more of the second oor.
GOING FOR A RIDE!
In 2004 everyone got to go for a 5-8 mile ride in our 1964 Spyder convertible! Joan & Cal took turns giving 3 employees at a time a ride through
the hills. Over 70% had never ridden in a convt! All of the tech people got to take it for a 12-mile drive.
Later we jacked it up & each tech guy spent about 1½ hours with a group of phone people going over every inch of the car. Every phone person
can't be a Corvair expert, but they sure try! During 2012, employees got their first ride in Cal & Joan's restored Rampside.
